Kindle Scout Promotional System

A Dynamic, Scalable Identity For Engaging Readers Worldwide

A Unified Genre Approach

Amazon launched Kindle Scout, where readers nominated books for publishing. To elevate it, Amazon brought me in to create a dynamic brand identity that adapted across genres to promote books globally.

Role: Design Lead driving art direction in collaboration with product management and event production teams.

Motion-Inspired Aesthetic

The design uses dynamic diagonals, inspired by the italicized 'Scout' in the Kindle Scout logo to create a modern, energetic look.

Colors adapt by genre

Dark tones for mystery, blue for fantasy, beige for general literature, and pink for romance create a cohesive yet flexible visual identity.

A versatile, bold, and recognizable system.

Scalable Design

The design enables seamless book cover swaps, maintaining a cohesive yet adaptable visual identity across genres.

The system empowered authors to succeed.

Reader-Driven Book Promotion

To maximize reach, the campaign utilized online and offline assets like cards, one-sheets, and bookmarks at trade shows, events, and book launches.

Results

The Kindle team, authors, and publishers praised the bold, flexible system.

The templates saved time, cut costs, and expanded internationally.
